First installation for Midwest Hose

Midwest Hose, an authorized distributor for the United States, installed its first automatic lubrication system last February. The installation was done on a Komatsu PC490LC excavator with the help of the Alltech Group team.

Follow-up after 100 hours of use

Installing the lubrication system is one thing, but you still have to make sure that it has been done well and that the calibration meet the manufacturer's standards. It is necessary to check that each point receives the right amount of grease, in a precise time interval.

Midwest team went to the customer to analyze the lubrication system after 100 hours of use. Analysis has shown that the system works wonderfully .

Each point receives an ideal level of lubricant; a small amount is sent at a time. It also protects the surface against contamination. It creates a barrier to sand, water and other contaminants which may have an abrasive effect on the surface. Regular lubrication prevents premature wear!

Construction sites reopening

Following Government’s announcement, some construction sites are authorized to open next week, April 20. Several preventive measures will have to be put in place to protect the health of workers.

The CNESST (Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail) has created a "Building sites - COVID-19" tactical committee. This committee is responsible for raising problems, sharing good practices and finding prevention solutions to enforce public health guidelines and recommend actions to be implemented on construction sites.

Preventive measures to protect the health of workers

An online guide is available on the CNESST website. It determines the measures to be put in place on construction sites to reduce the contamination of workers by COVID-19. These measures will be updated regularly as the pandemic situation evolves.

This guide explores several points, including:

• Checking the health condition of workers arriving on site
• Criteria for the return to work of a worker who has contracted COVID-19
• Work planning to respect social distancing
• Hygiene measures on site
• Prevention measures during work in a place contaminated by COVID-19
• Use of specific personal protective equipment for COVID-19
• Solutions to fight stress, anxiety and depression associated with Covid-19
• Reminder of the basic hygiene measures of the General Directorate of Public Health
