What is an onboard scale system?

What is an onboard scale system?

An on-board scale is actually a load control device that can calculate the weight of material transported using a wheel loader (or other equipment). This makes it possible to know the quantity of actual material transported.

The installation of an on-board scale makes it possible to carry out optimized loadings by carrying out a simple and effective weighing on the spot. This allows to avoid overloads or unused capacity.

An on-board scale system saves time, reduces costs and improves workflow.

How PFREUNDT scales work?

These rugged systems are designed for reliable and precise operation in harsh environments in continuous duty.

The weighing electronics and its handling are identical in all types of wheel loaders, so that adaptation or initiation of the drivers is unnecessary..

The pressure sensors are connected with a mounting bracket specific to the ducts of each vehicle to the lifting cylinder of the loader. The differential pressure between the piston heads and the piston rods is then measured.

The proximity sensors (N1 / N2) are used to record the position of the bucket and the lifting element. This makes it possible to start weighing (with a corresponding position).

All signals used for weighing are recorded, evaluated and displayed in the scale.

The electronic part of the scale is equipped with a spherical articulation allowing to adjust at any time the optimal reading position.

An external printer can be connected to the scale (option).

All advantages at a glance

Time saving

Time-saving dynamic weighing (weighing takes place whilst loading).

Patented pressure sensors with integrated temperature control enable direct use of the scale without warm-up strokes when starting work and after breaks.

Maximum reliability and service

Patented overload protection of sensors at pressures above 500 bars.

Patented protection of cables against ageing through environmental influences PFREUNDT.

Grease guide

Grease is the key element to your lubrication system.

The choice of grease type is particularly important for the proper function of the system and will have direct impact on its efficiency.

Characteristics

After analyzing the working conditions of your automatic greasing system, here are the recommendations concerning the choice of the grease to use.

Mixing different types of grease may damage your system.

Before changing your grease, make sure the new grease is compatible with the current grease.

Procedures to bleed your system

In order to avoid mixing greases, it is strongly advised to bleed your system. The Alltech Group proposes you a grease replacement procedures in order to avoid damaging your system.

On the road or off the road: Pedestrian detection is essential!

The latest must have in automotive safety, pedestrian detection is progressively becoming an indispensable technology as a security for equipment on the work site.

As a matter of fact, most major auto makers already propose this option on their high end models.… Soon all cars will be equipped with a detection system for pedestrians, cyclists or animals.

In the industry also…

In the industrial sector, technology is also gaining ground. Specifically in an environment where pedestrians and heavy equipment have to work side by side: Public works, recycling, mines, steel mills…

Instead of simple cameras, more and more companies are equipping there fleet of heavy machinery with back up radars, a badge detection system or intelligent cameras that recognize pedestrians.

Risks and higher stakes

It is a known fact that in such an environment the risks of collisions are higher. Blind spots is one of the major safety issues on heavy equipment. In addition, the operator is never exclusively focused on driving. Unlike the motorist, the operator has a more productive task that are often repetitive: transport materials, load or unload the bucket…

It is therefore necessary to have piloting assistance, cause the stakes of having accidents are quite high and accidents could lead to a delay in production or even a full halt in production!

Operating in severe environments

Fortunately, there exists a solution for these uses. Although this is not always acknowledged, they benefit a more advanced technology compared to the automobile industry. This is notably due to the fact that in the industrial sector, the system must be more robust in order to function in severe environments: On rugged terrain, night and day, in dust, extreme temperatures and significant electromagnetic fields.

Are you ready for the next snow storm?

The safer way to plow!

The use of a laser guidance system allows you to know where the right wing of the snow plow will pass. The driver of the vehicle only has to follow the spot of the laser projected on the road. It allows a better evaluation of the distances by the operator especially in bad weather.
