A worker crushed by a paver on a construction site in Laval.
The CNESST has made public the findings of its investigation on the industrial accident that killed a specialized laborer for Réhabilitation DU O inc., on November 15, 2018 in Laval.
Causes of accident
The investigation enabled the CNESST to retain two causes to explain the accident:
- The worker, who was directing traffic at the intersection of de la Bernina and Boisvert streets, found himself in the blind spot of the paver. He didn’t notice that the paver was moving and was therefore crushed.
- Traffic control at intersection de la Bernina and Boisvert streets was lacking, especially in regards to training the traffic signaler and the opening of Boisvert Street for circulation.
