What is an onboard scale system?

What is an onboard scale system?

An on-board scale is actually a load control device that can calculate the weight of material transported using a wheel loader (or other equipment). This makes it possible to know the quantity of actual material transported.

The installation of an on-board scale makes it possible to carry out optimized loadings by carrying out a simple and effective weighing on the spot. This allows to avoid overloads or unused capacity.

An on-board scale system saves time, reduces costs and improves workflow.

How PFREUNDT scales work?

These rugged systems are designed for reliable and precise operation in harsh environments in continuous duty.

The weighing electronics and its handling are identical in all types of wheel loaders, so that adaptation or initiation of the drivers is unnecessary..

The pressure sensors are connected with a mounting bracket specific to the ducts of each vehicle to the lifting cylinder of the loader. The differential pressure between the piston heads and the piston rods is then measured.

The proximity sensors (N1 / N2) are used to record the position of the bucket and the lifting element. This makes it possible to start weighing (with a corresponding position).

All signals used for weighing are recorded, evaluated and displayed in the scale.

The electronic part of the scale is equipped with a spherical articulation allowing to adjust at any time the optimal reading position.

An external printer can be connected to the scale (option).

All advantages at a glance

Time saving

Time-saving dynamic weighing (weighing takes place whilst loading).

Patented pressure sensors with integrated temperature control enable direct use of the scale without warm-up strokes when starting work and after breaks.

Maximum reliability and service

Patented overload protection of sensors at pressures above 500 bars.

Patented protection of cables against ageing through environmental influences PFREUNDT.
